4. What are the application requirements? Am I eligible?

If you are an enrolled Monterey Institute student, you may simply fill out the application and submit it electronically. All other participants submit the application form with a resume, recent transcript, and statement of purpose attached. Participants who have completed at least two years of undergraduate work, and have a demonstrated interest in conservation and environmental issues are welcomed to apply. This program is for junior professionals, advanced undergraduates, and graduate students.

5. How do I apply?
Apply to the
CLP program by downloading the CLP Application. Please submit all materials electronically if at all possible to clpprogram@miis.edu.

6. When is the application deadline?
The priority deadline for applications is
November 15th, 2007.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis thereafter.

7. Is there financial aid available for the CLP?
There are no scholarships at this time for
CLP. However, you may be eligible to receive financial aid in the form of loans to cover the tuition fee for the program. If you are a Monterey Institute student, please see the Office of Student Financial Planning to learn more about your individual options.

Participants are encouraged to seek outside scholarships to cover the costs of the program. Those individuals who are currently working for conservation organizations may apply directly to their places of work for reimbursement of tuition fees.

8. Can I receive credit for CLP? Students who successfully complete CLP and wish to obtain academic credit for their experience (up to 4 credits) may do so if they enroll in specially designated classes for CLP participants at the Monterey Institute, for which regular academic tuition must be paid. These credits are subject to normal Monterey Institute tuition fees. Students who are not enrolled at the Monterey Institute may also avail themselves of this option at their home institution. Please contact your home institution for eligibility.

9. What materials are required for the course?
The pre-readings will be supplied in electronic form to admitted students one month prior to the course. An electronic syllabus will also be provided with links to readings. Additional handouts and materials will be distributed in class. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop to each session.
