Summer DPMI Monterey

Summer DPMI Monterey is offered from May 18 – June 5, 2009 on the campus of the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Participants will complete a set of pre-readings prior to on campus study. The intensive three-week classroom instruction is enhanced by group work, career meetings with instructors, and real-time feedback on skills under development. The certificate is awarded after submission of a personal reflection paper, due three months after the completion of DPMI.

Located in historic downtown Monterey, just blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf, the Monterey Institute campus provides access to a wide range of activities. Participants take advantage of their time in beautiful Monterey with weekend hikes in Big Sur, visits to Carmel, and group outings in the evenings.

There is no on-campus housing for DPMI in Monterey; however, the Student Affairs Office can assist participants with Monterey Housing Resources.

Summer DPMI Washington DC

DPMI DC is offered from May 27– June 14, 2009 in downtown Washington, D.C.

There are hundreds of international development organizations headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area. DPMI DC takes advantage of the location with organizational visits and informational sessions with hiring managers. The class meets Wednesday– Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-6pm, leaving ample time in the evenings and on the weekends to explore the area and attend events being held at development organizations. Professionals can also continue a day job on Mondays and Tuesdays during the three-week program.
