The Development Project Management Institute is a professional training program designed to prepare you for long-term development work in Africa, Asia, Latin America or anywhere else where there is extensive poverty, transitional government, or acute emergency. DPMI provides participants with a solid set of skills and tools for designing, assessing and leading change-oriented programs.

The program is especially suitable for:

Winter Programs

Monterey, California 
January 12 -30, 2009
(Mon.-Fri)

DPMI Monterey is offered on the campus of the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
Students have Saturdays and Sundays free during the three-week program. Weekday classes will be held from 9am to 4pm.

The intensive three-week classroom instruction is enhanced by group work, career meetings with instructors and real-time feedback on skills being developed. A DPMI certificate is awarded after submission of a personal reflection paper, due three months following completion of DPMI. 


Summer Programs

Monterey
May 12-30, 2008

Washington DC
May 21-June 8, 2008
(Wed.-Sun.)

Weekday classes are held from 9am-4pm and weekend classes (Washington, D.C. only) are held from 12pm-6pm.

There are hundreds of international development organizations headquartered in the DC-area. DPMI Washington DC takes advantage of the location with organizational visits and informational sessions with hiring managers.

The class meets five days each week, leaving ample time in the evenings and during rest days between modules to explore the area and attend events being held at development organizations. A DPMI certificate is awarded after submission of a personal reflection paper, due three months following completion of DPMI. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
